Feed Louisiana Love

In Louisiana, a state famous for its natural bounty, culinary heritage, and hospitality, a surprisingly high number of people in every community struggle to put food on the table. In fact, unreliable access to food is more common in Louisiana than almost anywhere else in the country, and is rising dramatically as we grapple with COVID-19. Our neighbors who counted on our food banks before still do, and many who didn’t are now facing food shortages for the first time.

The Statistics Are Sobering

  • Louisiana has one of the highest levels of food insecurity (unreliable access to food) in the United States.
  • One in six households struggled to put food on the table even before the pandemic.
  • Louisiana ranks as the most food-insecure state for senior citizens.
  • One in four children lives in a food-insecure household.
